A Word from our Pastor

On behalf of my wife Angie and I, we would like to give thanks for a wonderful Church family for your prayers and support for these wonderful years in being your Pastor. As I look back over the years here at Lawsonville Baptist Church there are so many wonderful memories that I can recall and they go much further than the day that you called me to be your Pastor. It reaches back to my early childhood. For I still remember as a young child walking in the old Church building, hearing good Gospel singing and good old fashion Gospel preaching. Then God blessed us to build a new Church and I can well remember as a 6 year old boy walking several miles with the members from the old church building to the new one.  It was here at Lawsonville Baptist on October 13th, 1983 that Christ saved me and changed my life completely. It was here that Angie and I became a part of the youth group and it was here on May 26th, 1991 that we united as one in marriage. It was here on Homecoming Day August 1991 that I surrendered to the ministry to preach God's Word. It was here on September 17th, 1994 that you asked me to be your pastor. It has been here that we have raised our three children, Johnathan, Matthew and Katie and it was here that they all received Christ as their Savior. What wonderful memories that I can recall at Lawsonville Baptist Church. God has truly worked in our lives here and I am thankful that God is still working in our church and we must continue on with the same message, that "Jesus Saves" and press toward the mark, staying on the old paths and sticking with the Book, God's Holy Word. It has been truly a honor and blessing to serve you as your Pastor. Thank you and God Bless you all!

Pastor Donald G. McHone
